Check out my appearances on other podcasts!

Check out my appearances on other podcasts!

I have been meaning to compile this list into a blog post for longer than I would like to say, but better late than never, right?!  One thing I didn't anticipate when I started my podcast was the opportunity to be a guest on other shows!  Below is some information about my visits to other podcasts.  This list is not necessarily exhaustive, as sometimes my memory gets a little foggy.  Further, these will not necessarily be in chronological order, but I will try my best! Update 8/17/25:  I forgot several other podcasts that invited me on, so I have added a few below!

The 80s and 90s Uncensored | Podcast on Spotify

Back in 2022, I was a guest for the very first time on a podcast called "The 80s and 90s Uncensored" with hosts Jamie & Milo.  When they first reached out to me, I swore that it was spam!  After all, when you host a podcast, you start getting an obscene amount of spam emails.  Most of them are some random person telling me they could get me to the top of the charts in Apple Podcasts, but thankfully, I always know better! Anyhoo, I got to be a guest on the show to discuss our favorite board games from the '80s and '90s.  We each shared two games we remembered from growing up, as well as some of the backstory behind them. And as it turns out, Milo and Jamie are pretty awesome guys, and they have been so supportive of me and my podcast.  I will refer to their show more in this post.  Just know that if you like my show, you will love theirs!

No Shame on You is both a non-profit organization and a podcast that takes a deep dive into mental health, working to take the stigma out of mental illness.  They were kind enough to invite me onto their show to discuss my grief journey following the tragic passing of my sister.  You can check out my appearance and their podcast here. I love the title they gave to the episode: From grief to grace: A sister's legacy in pop culture.  That encapsulates my show perfectly :) Note:  listen to this episode with care.  We discuss a lot of serious and potentially triggering topics, including mental health, depression, treatment, suicide, substance abuse, etc.  The interviewer did a great job with these tough subjects (and yes, I will give myself a pat on the shoulder as well).

Pod Chums Podcast | Free Listening on Podbean App

Podchums was part podcast and part podcaster collaboration site.  Orchestrated by Jamie and Milo from the 80s and 90s, Uncensored, Podchums was an experiment of sorts to try and bring more pop culture podcasters together.  I believe this has been phased out of Jamie and Milo's busy schedule, but as of right now, you can still check out several of the episodes.  During one visit, I talked about my podcasting journey, which you can listen to here.  And on another visit, we did a "Podcaster Would You Rather" game.  You can listen to that here.  Kudos to Jamie and Milo for putting themselves out there and trying something new.  There are only so many hours in day, trust me, I know this all too well!

Binge Movies: Rankings and Reviews | Podcast on Spotify

Binge Movies welcomed me to their show in April of last year.  We got to chat about several notable teen movies, including:  "10 Things I Hate About You," "Clueless," "Cruel Intentions," "She's the Man," and "Easy A."  I am very familiar with most of these films, but I watched "Easy A" for the first time in preparation for my appearance.  It was fascinating to view these movies through an older adult lens and to realize why some of these don't hold up well, at all.  That being said, some do hold up pretty well, *cough* *cough*, i.e. "Clueless."  Binge Movies is an excellent podcast for cinephiles and retro pop culture lovers alike.  You can check out my appearance here.

Milo & Jamie were kind enough to invite me back to their podcast for a mini-series where we discussed important pop culture events during the early 2000s, including:  2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005.  We each shared insight into 2 different events.  From September 11th to the passing of Aliyah and Left Eye, we hit on a lot of memorable topics, both difficult and endearing.  Check out this fun series here.

90s Noise - Podcast - Apple Podcasts

90's Noise was another pop culture-focused podcast with an emphasis on the 90s.  While I don't think the two hosts are releasing new episodes, there is a great backlog of episodes, including my guest spot, which you can find here.  On their show, we got to chat about two of my all-time favorite shows from the '90s (and early 2000s): "Will and Grace" and "Sex and the City."  Fun fact: my sister and I individually owned "Sex and the City" on both VHS and DVD.  And fun-fun fact, I still own all seasons of "Will and Grace" on DVD. Needless to say, I love both shows and find myself quoting them all of the time.

Maniacal Music Musings welcomed me to their show to participate in a challenging television theme song bracket challenge.  Spanning many decades, I was tasked with picking out my favorite theme songs, which was not an easy task!   I cannot find the audio-only version, but here is the video episode from YouTube.

Retromade - Podcast - Apple Podcasts

My most recent podcast guest appearance was on the Retro Made podcast, which is hosted by a fellow '80s baby named Katie.  Last season, her focus was on the films of John Hughes, and I was fortunate to partake in the episode diving into the movie disaster that is Dennis the Menace (1993).  Most people wouldn't know that I am a life-long Dennis the Menace fanatic!  I am not kidding! I have loved this character since the early days of the live-action TV show, the DIC-produced cartoon, the made-for-tv-movie and various other incarnations.  Below is a picture I took of a Dennis the Menace bobblehead!  I visited Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this past spring and visited the Bobblehead Hall of Fame (10 out of 10 would recommend by the way!), and when I saw this figure, I knew I had to take a photo!

I met Katie as we have both collaborated a lot with the guys over at the  80s and 90s Uncensored.  Her podcast is so well-organized and has various segments that just add to its appeal.  Katie, like me, is one of the few women who host a pop culture-focused podcast.  Please check out her fantastic show! You can check out my guest spot here.

Katie also has a YouTube channel for her podcast. You can see the video version of my guest spot here.

There are several other podcasts I was lucky enough to be on, but several of said podcasts are no longer in production, so the episode is no longer available or is buried deep in the internet somewhere.  With all of that said, I am so grateful for the gracious podcast hosts who have invited me to be a part of their show.  It is always so much fun and, honestly, flattering to be asked!
